Danasati Association

The National Danasati Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to the development of Buddhist ideals: mindfulness, ethical conduct, compassion, loving-kindness, and liberation. It was founded in 2022 by Jim Forbes and three fellow meditators to manage the activities at Sala Daña.

At the heart of all activities of the National Danasati Association is the practice of mindfulness and vipassana meditation.

The association promotes activities and projects focused on the practice of vipassana meditation, including at Sala Dāna and the organization of meditation retreats. All activities are carried out in accordance with the Buddhist practice of dāna, ensuring that anyone—regardless of their financial situation—can benefit from contemplative techniques. All resources are used exclusively to fulfill the organization’s mission.

Becoming a member of Danasati is a way to actively support this purpose and help ensure that these practices and values remain available to more people. Members take part in the life of the association and support its long-term sustainability and development.
