Day Long Meditation Retreat with Beth Upton

We warmly invite you to a day-long meditation retreat with Beth Upton, a master meditator and teacher with deep experience and understanding of Buddha Dhamma.

Beth was a Buddhist nun for ten years, practicing intensively under the guidance of great masters such as Pa Auk Sayadaw in Myanmar. During that time she trained extensively in the Theravāda tradition as well as in other meditation methods, spending long periods in retreat in caves and forests. Since 2014 she has been teaching around the world, specializing in Jhana meditation and attaining Nibbana. She is also the founder of the Sanditthika Meditation Community in Spain.

During this retreat there will be lots of time for practice–both sitting and walking–and plenty of time for questions and answers. As is her speciality, Beth loves to work with students one on one, tailoring her teachings to where we are in our practice.

It is a unique opportunity to have Beth at Sala Dana, and to spend a full day learning from a teacher who combines the depth of monastic practice with the sensitivity of someone who also understands the challenges of everyday life.

At lunchtime you’re free to go out and eat, or bring a light meal to share together in the room.

You don’t need to bring anything, everything necessary is provided in the space.

We recommend arriving on time so we can begin calmly and to ensure you can access the workshop, as the door may be closed once it has started.

The workshop will be in English.

Contribution: Dāna (voluntary donation)

The teachings are offered in a spirit of generosity, and there is no set fee for attending. If you would like, you may offer a voluntary donation after the session. Donations help support Danasati, a non-profit organization, in continuing to provide accessible opportunities and space for practice and study.
